The new European Union general data Protection Regulation is the biggest change in data protection legislation in the last almost 20 years. It imposes a single legislative framework for the processing of personal data in the Member States of the European Union and replaces  Directive 95/46/EC, which was incorporated into Greek legislation by Law 2472/1997. The general regulation aims at the overall upgrading of the data protection framework in order to ensure both the effective protection of individuals in an ever-changing technological environment and the free movement of personal data. To achieve these objectives, it introduces a series of innovative provisions, including the data protection Officer or DPO).

In addition, enterprises has introduced law 4624/2019, published a few days ago in the Government Gazette, with which the Greek legal order is aligned with the European Data Protection Framework (incorporation    of Directive 680/2016    for the processing of data by the authorities and measures implementing the general data Protection regulation, widely known as  GDPR). Wise Advice    undertakes the drafting of the company’s compliance dossier and the risk assessment report.
